Below are short descriptions of each of the documents:

  • Admin Guide: This is a detailed document aimed primarily at your school's LCME coordinator and CurrMIT Administrator. It provides a complete roadmap through the process to use CurrMIT as part of the LCME Self-Study process, including decisions on data collection and entry, a brief overview of how information is stored in CurrMIT as it relates to LCME Database Section 2, and the LCME Required Course and Clerkship Forms. It also includes data gathering processes and tools. The focus of the Administrative Guide is on preparation, data gathering and/or review, and data entry/update.
  • Curriculum Content Checklists: This set of documents is being used to collect specific information required to meet the LCME's accreditation requirements. These documents can be completed prior to entering data in CurrMIT.
  • Clerkship Data Forms: This form is provided for your use in gathering information needed for your LCME site visit. This form has "Question" and "Response" areas for you to complete regarding clerkships at your institution.
  • Course Data Forms: This form is provided for your use in gathering information needed for your LCME site visit. This form has "Question" and "Response" areas for you to complete regarding courses at your institution.
  • Reference and Compilation Guide: This guide will be useful as a checklist of tasks for CurrMIT Administrators, both as they gather information to put into CurrMIT and as they run reports from CurrMIT. This document also provides an important guide for compiling information and supplementing the CurrMIT reports in order to complete the LCME Self-Study process.
  • Reports Guide: This document guides users through the process of running reports, regardless of their familiarity with CurrMIT.
  • Special Notes for LCME Self-Study: This consists of Data entry instructions covering all of the fields and records in CurrMIT, and forms that can be copied and distributed to Course and Clerkship Directors and Instructors, to gather the curriculum information needed for the self-study. The forms have been set up in a format that corresponds to the CurrMIT Course/Clerkship and Session record. Therefore, once the information is collected on the forms, CurrMIT administrators can easily determine where to enter the data into CurrMIT.
  • LCME Medical Education Database: Within this document, which was taken directly from the LCME database, we have inserted CurrMIT Reporting instructions that apply to each LCME requirement, except where the data cannot easily be stored in CurrMIT.
  • LCME Required Course/Clerkship Forms: Within this document, which was taken directly from the LCME database, we have inserted CurrMIT Data Entry and Reporting instructions that apply to each LCME requirement, except where the data cannot easily be stored in CurrMIT.

*Special thanks to CurrMIT staff, consultants and administrators from Florida State University College of Medicine, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine for providing the framework from which we developed the Special Notes for LCME Self Study.
