AAMC Survey of Resident/Fellow Stipends and Benefits
Below are the final results from the current AAMC Survey of Resident/Fellow
Stipends and Benefits (formerly the AAMC Survey of Housestaff Stipends,
Benefits and Funding) in addition to selected results from previous
surveys:
Background
The AAMC Survey of Resident/Fellow Stipends and Benefits (formerly
referred to as both the AAMC Survey of Housestaff Stipends, Benefits,
and Funding and the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems
Survey of Housestaff Stipends, Benefits, and Funding) has been fielded
annually since 1968.
Institutions, either hospitals or medical schools, are instructed
to complete the survey only if they issue the checks for resident
stipends. The data are available to all AAMC constituents and others
with an interest in graduate medical education issues.
The data collection and dissemination process used for the AAMC
Survey of Resident/Fellow Stipends and Benefits complies with the
Antitrust Guidelines promulgated by the U.S. Department of Justice
and the Federal Trade Commission in 1994. Individual institutions
are not identified and summary statistics are generated only when
five (5) or more institutions in a subgroup have responded to the
survey.
