Southern Group on Educational Affairs (SGEA)
The SGEA fosters excellence along the continuum of medical education — undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuing professional development — by providing a forum for discussing the challenges and opportunities of the medical education profession. This mission is accomplished through communication, cooperation, and shared respect among members. Membership in the SGEA is open to all faculty and professional staff at AAMC-member institutions in the Southern region, including those schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Puerto Rico.
